Program Overview
The SoCal String Academy Summer Institute offers two level-based training programs for students at different stages of development:
Violin Explorers: Beginner Program | No experience required
Rising Musicians: Continuing Violin Students
Training includes guided practice, ensemble rehearsal, skill development, and preparation for a concluding Friday Performance Sharing.
Each week is built around a unique musical theme—bringing imagination, creativity, and performance together in a joyful learning experience.

Students engage in a structured morning sequence that integrates technical training, guided practice, and collaborative ensemble learning.
Daily components include:
technique development
practice lab sessions
ensemble rehearsal
rhythm and theory training
themed musical activities and academy traditions
Daily Training Structure
Beginners | Ages 5–9 | No Experience Required
For students who are exploring the violin for the first time.
This program introduces foundational violin skills through carefully sequenced instruction that integrates movement, rhythm training, listening development, and early ensemble playing.
Students work toward:
Proper violin and bow hold
Ensemble awareness
Building practice habits
Performance participation
We provide violins at no additional cost!
Violin Explorers Tuition
Early Registration (before April 30) $350/ Session
Regular Registration (May 1- May31) $375/ Session
Late Registration (After June 1) $400/ Session
Violin Explorers
Continuing Violin Students | Up to Suzuki Book 3
For students who already study the violin.
This program helps students to strengthen technicality, practice discipline, and ensemble readiness.
Students participate in a structured daily training that includes:
Daily Practice Lab
Individual coaching moments
Leadership opportunity
Ensemble and performance skills
Independent practice strategies
